William Gabrielson - Interim Principal
Mr. Gabrielson will be serving the school as interim principal. Mr. Gabrielson served as principal of St. Peter's for five years and had been a principal for 14 years (It is his 45th year in education.) Upon his semi-retirement he was invited by two independent schools to join their faculties. He chose to join Beaufort Academy where he has taught World History 1 and 2, Drama, Journalism, Religious Studies, Current World Issues, Public Speaking and Psychology. (So much for retirement!) Since leaving St. Peter's he has maintained his connection with the school by coaching students for multiple South Carolina Independent School Association academic competitions as well as being a frequent leader of Tuesday prayers.

Emma Gresham - K-4 Teacher
Emma was born and raised in Beaufort and is a St. Peter’s alumni! She attended St. Peter’s from 1st grade through 8th grade, and then spent her high school years at Beaufort Academy. She graduated with honors from Clemson University in May 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Special Education. This is Emma’s first year of teaching and she is excited to be back at St. Peter’s.

Christy Brock - K-5 Teacher
Christy Brock is a native Georgian, and predominately lived in Athens, Georgia. She is an alumnus from the University of Georgia and received her bachelor’s in Child and Family Development, and then completed a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Piedmont College. She taught for six years at St. Joseph Catholic School in Athens, Georgia. Until recently, when her husband made a career change and they moved to the Low Country along with their two sons, Noah and John Hartley. The Brocks are excited about their new parish, new school, and new home.

Laura Frank - First Grade
Laura was born in Jefferson City, MO. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Early Childhood Education. After marrying her husband, Tim, she moved all over the world as a proud Marine Corps wife and was able to continue teaching and working with children and families. She has taught kindergarten, been a school librarian, trained adults as a Training and Curriculum Specialist, and directed two Military Child Development Centers. The Frank family was here with us from 1999-2003 and happily returned to Beaufort and St. Peter’s in 2006. Her two children are both St. Peter’s students.

Bonnie Goltz - Second Grade
Bonnie hails from Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her BS in Elementary Education at Ohio University and a Masters in Education, Reading Concentration, at Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH. Her background in education includes 3 years in a school for Mentally and Physically Disabled, 1 year in a Montessori preschool, 5 years in a Catholic School on the west side of Cleveland, 1 year as a 6th grade teacher in Wheeling, WV, 5 years as a second grade teacher at St. Aloysius, E. Liverpool, OH, 1 year as a second grade teacher in Columbiana, OH and most recently 2 years as public school reading teacher in grades six through twelve. She is married to Gary and has two grown children, Michael in Pittsburgh and Jennifer in Greenville, SC. She is an avid reader and loves teaching in a Catholic school once again.

Kathy Wilson - Third Grade
Kathy was born, raised, and educated in Illinois. She received her BA from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, and her MA from Boston College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kathy moved to Beaufort in 1980. Most of her teaching experience was at Beaufort Academy. She taught one year at Lady’s Island Middle School, and last year worked part time at Broad River Elementary. Kathy has very much enjoyed her teaching career. Recently wed, Kathy married Ernie Wilson in March 2001. She has two grown, married children who live here in Beaufort, In March, she will become a grandmother! Her daughter Megan is expecting a child, and she can’t wait!

Catherine Melville - Fourth Grade
Catherine was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She attended St. Edmund’s School and St. Edmund’s High School. Cathy graduated from Molloy Catholic College in Rockville Center, NY in 1970 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, Cathy married William Melville and began teaching first grade at St. Therese of Lisieux School in Brooklyn. She taught there for one year and then stayed at home for several years to raise a family, during which time she moved to New Jersey. In 1986, Cathy began teaching in a private pre-school and continued there until the family moved to South Carolina in 1995. Cathy has been at St. Peter’s Catholic School since October 1995. During her first year at St. Peter’s, she taught pre-kindergarten. Her second year was split. For the first half of the year, she taught second grade part-time, and then took over fourth grade full-time in February 1997, where she has been ever since. Cathy has teaching certification in both New Jersey and South Carolina.

Wendy Lacombe - Fifth Grade
Wendy Lacombe was born in Biddeford, Maine where she spent her childhood. She decided to attend college in a much warmer climate and graduated with a B.A. in Religious Education and English from St. Leo College. After teaching drama and gifted education in Florida, and working with emotionally challenged teens in Massachusetts, she married Deacon Bill Lacombe and moved to South Carolina. She has taught secondary English and fifth grade in Hampton County, South Carolina. The Lacombe's returned to St. Peter's two years ago and they live on Lady's Island with their 5 children, Paul, Meg, Gabe, Tess and Ellie.

Amy Hamilton - Sixth Grade
Amy was born and raised in Beaufort. She is a 1990 graduate of Beaufort Academy and a 1994 graduate of Newberry College. After teaching a year in the public schools, Amy was hired as St. Peter’s first Physical Education teacher. She held that position for two years before becoming the fifth grade teacher. She has also served as the librarian and as the Extended Care Director. Amy has two children who attend St. Peter’s.

Ana Smith Ward - Seventh Grade
Ana was born in El Savador, and has taught middle school Spanish at St. Peter’s for six years. For the last three years, she has been a homeroom teacher, religion teacher, and mathematics teacher. In addition to her teaching duties, Mrs. Ward is also the yearbook advisor as well as the technology advisor. Mrs. Ward received her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, and her Masters in Education from the University of Phoenix in December 2003.

Kasey Miller - Middle School Math
Kasey and her Marine husband, Mike Orr, were members of St. Peter's from 1995 to 1999, and they are glad to be back in Beaufort. She has a Bachelor's of Education from Virginia Tech and a Master's of Education from Texas A&M. She has taught in a Jacksonville, NC, middle school; a Washington Montessori school and a California community college. Kasey and Mike have three children, all whom attend St. Peter's: Maggie, Caroline, and Jack.

Heather Rembold - Eighth Grade
Heather Rembold is a Beaufort transplant, originally from Boiling Springs, PA. The Marine Corps brought her family to Beaufort, and after a 2 ½ year duty station at Parris Island, a love for Beaufort, and the St. Peter’s community, the Rembold’s decided to homestead in Beaufort! Heather completed her undergraduate work in May of 1997 from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, earning a degree in Environmental Science and Policy and Marine Biology. Her graduate work was completed in December or 1999 with a degree in Environmental Education.

Sister Bernadette Battaglia - Elementary Religion & Spanish
Sister Bernadette is a Franciscan Sister of the Sisters of St. Francis of Millvale, PA. She attended Catholic elementary school and public high school. Sister Bernadette studied and received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA and Master’s degree in Education at Duquesne University, also in Pittsburgh, PA. She has taught in various places and held other positions such as assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent. Sister has not only taught in the local schools in Pittsburgh, but also in the nearby dioceses. She has also served as a missionary in South America and taught in the Caribbean. Sister Bernadette is also a recipient of the “Who’s Who Among American Teachers” Award. She has taught religion in grades kindergarten, first, second, third and fifth. Sister also teaches Spanish for grades kindergarten through fifth. Even with her school duties, Sister is also very busy helping out in parish ministries such as Altar Server Coordinator, visiting the imprisoned, sick and nursing homes, and the church choir. She is very proud to be a Franciscan Sister and a teacher, using her skills and wisdom in trying to guide students to become leaders in their work and leaders in following Jesus.

Lisa Trumps - Art
Lisa and her husband have lived in Beaufort for 14 years. She earned a degree in Art History from the College of Charleston and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Carolina. She also studied abroad in Italy. She taught school in Atlanta and is excited to be teaching again now that her three children are at Saint Peter's. She enjoys painting with oils when she gets the chance.

Lynn Boatwright– Music
Lynn M. Boatwright was born and raised in Hartsville SC. She began playing piano at the mere age of 5. She participated in choir throughout high school and college. She entered USC as a music major in the fall of 1986. She was a performance major and also a music education major. During her sophomore year, she had the privilege to sing for Pope John Paul II during his visit to Columbia, SC. She transferred to Francis Marion University and earned her degree in Elementary Education. She taught for three years in the local schools in grades one and five. After marriage, she relocated to Hilton Head Island and stayed for 3 years. After her daughter Mari Penn was born she and her husband Phil decided to return home to raise their family. During this time, she taught 3rd grade, was an Activities Director at the local YMCA and served as the Computer Based Classroom Coordinator at her alma mater Hartsville High School. Business would again bring the Boatwright family to the Low Country. She decided to return to her first love and has chosen to teach children an appreciation for music. The Boatwright’s live in Bluffton and Lynn is a member of the Praise Team at the Church of the Cross at Buckwalter, where she is a vocalist.

Larry Satterfield - Physical Education
Larry was born in North Carolina and earned his BS at Appalachian State University and his Masters at Western Carolina University. After 34 years as physical education instructor and guidance counselor at Laurel Bay Schools, Larry retired but found he needed more than golf, his favorite pastime, to fill his days. He came to St. Peter’s as physical education instructor in August 2000.

Denise Beckwith - K-4 Aide
Denise Beckwith is the K-4 classroom aide. Denise is a former St. Peter’s parishioner and school parent (1996-2000) who returned to the Beaufort area during the summer of 2005. Her husband is with the Marine Corps and she has 3 children, 2 of whom attend St. Peter’s. Denise grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She is currently working on a second degree in education.

Gail Shannon - K-5 Aide
Gail was born and raised in Latrobe, PA. She graduated from Latrobe High School and then went to Bradford Business Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. She married her high school sweetheart and has two daughters. Gail worked in the secretarial field, and then was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest was four years old. She was hired by St. Peter's in 2000 as an extended care worker. The past three years, Gail has worked as a teacher’s assistant. The USMC brought her family to Beaufort in 1999 and she is proud to call St. Peter’s and Beaufort home.

Kathy Dilsaver - 1st Grade Aide
Kathy has lived in Beaufort her whole life. She has been married for almost 35 years. Kathy has three children; two grown and one who attends St. Peter’s Catholic School. Kathy has been an aide in K-4 for a couple of years and is now the first grade aide. Kathy has also been a den leader for the boy scouts for two years now.

Ann Feltner - 2nd Grade Aide
Ann Feltner is a native of Dayton, Ohio. She lived in Beaufort from 1996-2003, and is married to Bob. She recently returned to Beaufort after 4 years back home in Ohio. She is the mother of 6, grandmother of 2. Formerly Ann has been a preschool teacher, classroom sub, St. Peter's School Board member, and most recently, an instructional aide in Special Needs classroom at Mother Teresa Catholic School (Ohio). Ann is working on finishing K-3 Education degree at USCB and is hoping to teach full-time at some point in the near future.

Claire Coffman - School Receptionist
Claire Coffman was born in New York, but was raised here in Beaufort. She graduated from Beaufort Academy in 1993 and from USC, Beaufort in 1999 with a major in English and Theatre. After almost 17 years with the Chocolate Tree, Claire decided to accept a job with St. Peter’s School, giving her more time with her husband of 7 years, Brian, and her two daughters, Madalyn (in K5 at St. Peter’s) and Jillian (3 ½). Claire is also secretary of the School’s PTO.

Nora Trpcic - Lunch Room Director
Nora has lived in the area since 2002 and is married to Joe who is a physical therapist at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. The Trpcics have 2 children who attend St. Peter’s Catholic School, Olivia and Joey. Prior to coming to St. Peter’s, Nora was an ultrasound tech. Nora volunteered at St. Peter’s for 3 years before becoming lunch room director.

Donna Flores - Extended Care Director
Donna, a native of St. Louis, Mo. came to Beaufort, SC in 1981. Her husband David is a retired Marine. Donna and David have two sons, James and Jesse. They also have three grandchildren, David, Jamie and Mikey, with David and Jamie attending St. Peter’s School. Donna worked with the Beaufort City Police Department for three years as a School Crossing Guard. She is a volunteer with the Police Movie Club. Donna works as director of St. Peter’s Extended Care Program and volunteers with the school as needed.

Joy Alston
Joy has lived in Beaufort all her life. She is the youngest of four. Joy attended Technical College of the Lowcountry. Her dream is to one day open her own preschool because of her love for children. Presently, she is the assistant in the Extended Care program and the Director of the Church Nursery. Hobbies include shopping and spending time with her family.
