This group oversees the planning and coordination for the Masses each weekend as well as special liturgical celebrations throughout the year. The following ministries are a part of liturgy committee.
Altar linens - Linens used during Masses are washed, ironed and folded according to specific instructions. Assignments on a monthly basis.
Altar servers - Boys and girls, fourth grade and up, who are trained to assist the priest during the Mass celebration. There is always room for children to join this important ministry! If you are a server who is already serving and wanting to sign up for 2017-2018, click here for the sign up form. If you are a new server, click here for new server form. Forms are due in to the parish office by September 1st. The first training for new and old servers is Sunday, September 17 following the 10am Mass (11:30am to 2pm, lunch provided).
Candle ministry - Persons in this ministry replace votive candles in Our Lady’s Chapel of Perpetual Adoration and at the statues of St. Joseph, St. Michael, and St. Peter in the main church.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion - Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion for Mass assist the clergy in distribution of the Eucharist. Application for training and commissioning is made through the parish office.
Flowers (Sanctuary Environment) - Members of this ministry decorate the sanctuary, prepare and arrange flowers for weekly Masses and special feasts.
Gift bearers - Present the gifts of bread and wine to the altar at each Mass. Families are selected prior to Mass by the ushers or call the parish office if you would like to be a gift bearer in advance.
Hispanic Mass - Hispanic Mass occurs on Saturday night. For this worship, the community assists the priest with liturgy, music, and the Eucharist.
Hospitality - The hospitality ministry, formerly the greeter ministry, welcome the community plus distribute worship guides and bulletins at each Mass. A smile and a kind word are all it takes to participate in this ministry.
Ministry to Homebound - Makes visits to those who are unable to leave home and visit the area nursing facilities. To share your time and conversation become part of this ministry!
Music - This ministry strives to lead parishioners in worship of God through sacred music that is firmly planted in the vast, rich musical heritage of the Catholic faith. Singers and players of musical instruments are encouraged to join one or more of these groups: adult choir, children's choir, Coro Hispano. Perpetual Adoration - The Blessed Sacrament is exposed 24 hours a day in Our Lady's Chapel located behind the main sanctuary of the main church. Adorers are scheduled in one hour blocks so that someone is in the Chapel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Pew Literature Maintenance - Each Monday or Tuesday morning after the 7:15 a.m. Mass, members of this ministry check the hymnal pockets for trash or missing books and blue welcome envelopes.
Proclaimers of the Word - These are the persons (English and Spanish) who proclaim the first and second readings during holy Mass. Special training is required.
Sacristans - These individuals prepare for the celebration of Holy Mass. Among other duties, they assure the correct liturgical colors are in use, the candles are lit, the book readings are marked, and the linen pieces are available and appropriate. They also attend after Mass to the cleaning of the cups that have held the Blood of Christ and the lavabo bowls. Training is required for this ministry.
Ushers - Ushers assist in seating and help Mass attendees with miscellaneous questions and concerns as they relate to Mass attendance. We perform weekly head counts, do the collection and initiate the chain of custody for collection materials and select gift bearers. We help guide people to Communion. We perform other non-routine activities such as reserving pews for special occasions as directed by the pastor or as requested by ministry leaders.
