Community Building

Adult Supper Club - This social group gathers the third Saturday of each month at an area restaurant. This group enjoys a meal, conversation, and activities.

Ancient Order of HiberniansThe Ancient Order of Hibernians provides egg and bacon breakfast sandwiches after the 8:00 and 10:00 Masses on the third Sunday of each month from October through May.  This group also meets monthly to socialize and plan various events throughout the year.

Book ClubThe Book Club meets once per month and discusses a book chosen by consensus. The genre of book varies from month to month (i.e., biography, history, & religious formation).  This group is under the umbrella of the Women of the Parish. Click here for the 2017 list of books.

Bulletin - One source of information for our parish is our weekly bulletin. To have something published, please email your article to May Hoffman (mhoffman@stpeters-church.org) no later than 9 days before the weekend of distribution of that bulletin, i.e. the Thursday of the week BEFORE the week and weekend when that bulletin will be given out.

Coffee and donuts - This ministry provides fellowship following the Sunday Masses. Share conversations or assist by setting and cleaning up!

Columbiettes - The women’s right arm of the Knights of Columbus works to support the Knights’ programs spiritually, socially, and financially. Fund raiser proceeds are also distributed to other charitable causes.

Helping Hands - Drivers are needed at various times. Those willing to help may need to drive people to Mass or doctor’s appointments or make trips to the drug store.

Hispanic Ministry - Activities of this ministry focus on bible study and music featured at the Spanish Mass and various celebrations unique to the Spanish community.

Home Visitation - This area is in particular need of volunteers to visit homes of those who have called asking for immediate emergency assistance. If you are interested in helping with home visitation, please call 843-522-9555 ext. 541.

Knights of Columbus - Knights of Columbus Council #5026, The Michael J. O’Connor Chapter, supports the church through evangelization, civic involvement, charitable works, and spirituality.

Men’s Club  - This group meets periodically  in social or service activities.

Office AngelsAdministrative support in a parish is the backbone of the day-to-day operations. Volunteers answer phones, file, do some computer work, prepare mailings and other office handiwork. Some training is required. The schedule can be weekly or as needed.

Parish Events Committee - This group helps to coordinate celebrations and special events, plan and prepare for social events to strengthen our parish community, organize meals and decorations.

Philippine Evangelization - The Filipino community meets the first Saturday of each month in private homes to say a rosary and join in a meal.

Rosary Makers These dedicated parishioners make rosaries in community with one another. Come and see how this task is done on Tuesday mornings in the St. Juan Diego Room.

Scouts - Sponsored by St. Peter’s parish, we have a Cub Scout Pack and a Boy Scout Troop. Please call the school office, 843-522-2163.

Secular Franciscan Order - The process of becoming a professed Secular Franciscan is a journey that involves three separate stages and culminates in a lifelong commitment to life the Gospel following the example of St. Francis of Assisi.  The group at St. Peter's carries on this goal and meets at designated intervals to enhance their spiritual enrichment.

Stamps - Canceled stamps can be exchanged for dollars. This ministry collects cancelled stamps, processes them according to the buyer’s guidelines, and “sells” them to a stamp collector company. It can be an “at home” activity or with the group when they meet as needed.

The Vineyard - This is our religious goods store located in the Walsh Palmetto Room foyer. Volunteers are needed after Masses to help at the cash register and with stocking the shelves.

Women of the Parish  - This group gathers monthly in planning activities of and for the parish.  Women of the Parish offer a scholarship for a Catholic woman who is a graduating high school senior headed to an institution of high education.  Please click here for the application.
